Wokingham Town and Reading City set for ‘Hospital Radio Derby’ this weekend
Wokingham Town will welcome Reading City to Lowther Road on Saturday afternoon for what has become affectionately known as the ‘Hospital Radio Derby’.
Both clubs have enjoyed plenty of airtime this season thanks to Hospital Radio Reading, whose sports team has provided regular live commentary and updates from Combined Counties League Premier Division North fixtures throughout the campaign.
This weekend’s coverage will once again be led by the familiar duo of Graeme Collyer and Maurice Moore, broadcasting live from Lowther Road in Emmbrook.
Commentary will be available to patients in the Royal Berkshire Hospital and can also be streamed online via the TuneIn app or at www.hrreading.org.uk, allowing fans across the world to tune in.
Wokingham Town have made a steady start to the season with some eye-catching results and some narrow defeats. Recent highlights include a 4-0 win over Wallingford & Crowmarsh, while a 2-0 loss at home to Holyport stings after beating the same side 5-1 on the opening day – the Sumas though will be without joint-boss Darren Purbrick who stepped down last week.
Reading City, meanwhile, have built momentum after a strong September. A 4-0 victory over North Greenford United last time out in the league showcased their attacking quality and defensive solidity. Both sides are jostling for position in the division in 11th and 12th on 12 points each.
How to listen to Wokingham Town vs Reading City
For those unable to make it to Lowther Road, full live commentary will be provided by Hospital Radio Reading, with coverage starting shortly before kick-off.
You can listen live at Royal Berkshire Hospital, online via www.hrreading.org.uk and through the TuneIn app from 3pm on Saturday.
